Jennifer Eden
has been playing guitar for over twenty years and is an accomplished
classical, acoustic and electric player. Jennifer holds a Bachelors of Science
in guitar and composition from The College of Staten Island, where she
graduated with honors. During her time as an undergrad she was a founding
member of the school's guitar ensemble and was also the recipient of the CSI
Foundation Prize for Outstanding Music by Students. Jennifer has studied with
many exceptional teachers and musicians, such as Edward Brown, Alice Artzt,
Ana Vidovic and Kevin Gallagher. Jennifer has been teaching guitar since 1998
as a freelance instructor. She currently resides in Paramus, NJ and teaches
from her home studio. Jennifer has also taught at Wagner College, The Staten
Island Academy and the Snug Harbor Conservatory. Being a prolific composer she
released a collection of original solo works entitled The Road Home in the
spring of 2008, and is currently working on a follow-up album.
In addition to her life as a musician, Jennifer has many other interests. She
holds a third degree black belt in Vadha Kempo Karate and was the second female
ever to be awarded with a black belt in this system. Her love of learning and
her fascination with the mind have inspired her to return to school in the fall
of 2009; she is currently working toward a masters degree in psychology at
Fairleigh Dickinson University. Jennifer is also an enthusiastic yoga
practitioner and teacher. She attained her 200-hour teaching certification
through The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre, which is a registered
program with the Yoga Alliance.
Jennifer borrows from each of her diverse passions and strives to integrate them
in such a way as to bring a holistic method to those she teaches. She is
extremely grateful for the lessons she herself has learned in life and it is her
mission to share any such knowledge and experience that she has attained with
others.
